What contrast ratio should I aim for?
For ordinary text, aim for at least 4.5:1 against its background. This tool also shows a 3:1 check for primary interface or graphical colour pairs.
Does an accessible theme make my whole Power BI report accessible?
No. The theme controls a useful part of the visual system, but you still need to check alt text, tab order, keyboard navigation, chart titles, slicers, tooltips and whether meaning depends on colour alone.
Can I use red and green?
Use colour carefully. Do not rely on red versus green as the only way to communicate meaning. Add text, icons, labels or another visual cue so the status remains understandable without colour.
What does the downloaded JSON contain?
The export contains supported Power BI theme properties such as data colours, structural colours and text classes. It is designed to be a clean starting point that Power BI can import and validate.
How do I import the theme into Power BI?
In Power BI Desktop, open the View tab, open Themes and choose Browse for themes. Select the downloaded JSON file and Power BI will validate and apply it.
